Stalling for Change!

Recently a woman approached me and said, “You’re the reason that I use a different toilet stall every time I go to the washroom at work”. Ummm? Pardon me?

Turns out, she had attended a change resilience workshop I delivered more years ago than I care to say. A key message I emphasized is that you can’t wait until change is upon you to build change resilience. You need to practice making small, consistent tweaks to your life and routines. Like not always going in the same stall. Or follow my dad’s example – he would try to always take a different route when driving (apparently to “avoid the kidnappers”. Ummm? again). Embracing small changes can help you build your tolerance and resilience when the big changes arise, which they inevitably do.

So, I invite you today to change up one small routine or habit and see how it feels. It could be a beginning to a stronger and more resilient you!
